The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
This movie is a return to the crazy, murderous antics of the cannibalistic Sawyer family (with Jim Sideow back as Drayton Sawyer). The stage is set when 2 asshole frat boys are out driving around looking for some shit to stir up. They engage in a game of chicken with a passing pickup, definitely not knowing that they were fucking with the WRONG truck...
Later that night, as the two continued cruising around, they meet up with the truck again, this time, it wouldn't let them pass. They scream and cuss at it, and finally it yields, only to chase them up the highway. Everyone's favorite chainsaw maniac, Leatherface (or Bubba) hops out onto the flatbed, fires up his hardware and hacks away at his car, while both vehicles continue to drive at full speed...Unfortunately (yeah, right) the kids don't make it, but their story is heard by a former Texas lawman, "Lefty" Enright (played brilliantly by Dennis Hopper) who has a bone to pick with the Sawyers. In the first movie, Enright's nephew was killed by the family, and his niece Sally was terrorized but she managed to get away. The local police don't do much about the highway "accident" so Lefty decides to take the law into his own hands.
He teams up with a local DJ, "Stretch" (played by Caroline Williams) who caught the entire killing on tape, as the boys had called the station to make a request only minutes before the event took place. Together, they lure the happy family to the radio station, and from then on, it's gravy, honey!!
| They track the two brothers Chop Top and Leatherface back to their hideout in an abandoned theme park, and Stretch falls down into a pit and is stuck in the crazy labyrinth house with the Sawyers. And that's all I'm gonna say...If you love your Horror films bloody, gutty and packed with dark, dark humor, you will fall in love with this movie as I have. It's my personal fave of all the Massacre movies, and my all-time fave as well. And if you manage to get your hands on the Collectors Edition copy of the film, you'll get the added treat of watching the whole thing in wide screen format, and a bonus of the movie's official trailer as well as scenes that were cut from the final product...And man, they are CHEAP!!! |
