HALLOWEEN II

Beginning precisely where the original Halloween film left off, panic-stricken police search the town of Haddonfield for a madman they believe to be still on the loose. However, the stakes proved higher at this point, as several eyewitnesses could attest to the fact that Michael Myers, the depraved maniac that had brought the smell of blood to the small town, had been shot several times - yet somehow, refused to die.

Police finally catch a break when they run down a masked man fitting Myers' description, yet are bewildered to find that in fact, they were responsible for the fiery death of an innocent teenager. The killer was still loose!

Young Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), had narrowly escaped a brutal death at the hands of Myers, and was taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. Terrified that whomever it was that had tried to kill her that night would stop at nothing to finish the job, Laurie fights off countless medical professionals forcing sedatives on her. After all, how can you fight for your life while in the pit of a chemical-induced sleep?

Driven by evil in it's purest form, Michael makes his way to the hospital in which Laurie is being held for treatment. One by one, the demonic lunatic picks of members of the hospital staff until Laurie is left with no one to protect her. Her last hope lies in Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance), Michael's psychiatrist, who had saved her life already that night.

Halloween II delivers all the suspense and action the original film did. Perhaps even more so! I think the body count is definitely higher in this fine sequel. Also, I think there's something in the quiet, creepy hospital setting that just gives it that extra bit needed to push anyone over the edge of their proverbial seat!
