Monster movies have sure come a long way since Frankenstein and The Wolfman back in Horror's classic era. However, the one thing that hasn't really changed is that no matter how brutally vicious the monster is, a small part of us can always identify and sympathize with it. Generally speaking, these monsters are not normally bloodthirsty by nature, but rather are provoked into murder by some outside force. Really makes you think of that poor, geeky kid in Math class that nobody ever wanted to sit beside *sniffle*.
