Perhaps the most realistic and frightening of all Horror films, these types of movies are so capable of scaring us because most people believe in the supernatural to some degree. My first experience with this portion of the genre was when I was about 9 years old and my mother rented The Exorcist, a movie she was convinced would terrify me when all the other Horror films just weren't doing it. Suffice to say, I didn't come out of the experience quite the same.
