DEMON KNIGHT

| Ladies and germs, boys and ghouls...This movie was absolutely
bootiful! A playful introductory piece featuring the Crypt Keeper himself leads nicely into Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight - one movie that is a stunning example of good taste in a modern Horror film. Those of us who are far from strangers to the Crypt, have come to expect a certain level of sophistication, and there are no disappointments in this harrowing tale of demons, and strangely enough, hope that there might be a chance for the human race after all. The story of Demon Knight begins at the dawn of time itself. A long |

| reign of darkness enjoyed by loathsome (way cool) demons was
suddenly and unexpectedly ended when God brought light into the world. In order to win
back their rule of darkness, the demons would have to gather a series of keys - which God
had scattered various places about the vast earth. Around the time of Christ, with only one of the sacred keys left uncaptured by the demonic legions, it was apparent that more crafty means of protecting the key must be sought. Within the protective hands of a virtuous guardian and fortified with the blood of Christ - perhaps there is some small chance that the key may be kept safe - ensuring the world a balance of dark and light. Armed with only their own wit and the blood within the key (Note to self: blood of Christ
acts as a great demon repellant) - it that person's plight alone to ward off the forces of
evil, so to speak. That's where Brayker (William Sadler) comes in. Given the key by a dying friend during the war, Brayker had been running from the demonic legions - guarding the key's safety - for quite some time. One fateful night, a car wreck left him stranded in an inn in a sleepy little town. It isn't long before the Demon Knight (Billy Zane) picks up his scent and comes looking for the key. |

| While barricaded inside the inn, Brayker meets Geraldine (Jada Pinkett), a young woman who refuses to give up her life without a fight. And man, is there ever some good fighting! Body count is medium-high, but when there is a death scene, it's pretty satisfying...even a decapitation in there, for the discerning viewer. Will Brayker and Geraldine succumb to the forces of evil, or will everything be okay, just like it always is? You can take a good stab at that one, or you can watch this wonderfully funny, frightening, fantabulous movie! |
